Verbena, long blooming flower

The blooms of verbena are large for a plant that grows 6 to 12 inches tall. Though it can tolerate some shade, verbena grows best in full sun. Bloom color options include blue, pink, purple, red, and white. Blooms display from late spring to early fall.

Plant verbena in the ground or in containers. Set plants about 15 inches apart. Use verbena in hanging baskets, as a border plant around a flower bed, or along a sidewalk or driveway.
